Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read speaks to reporters in Portland about the upcoming election, Oct. 13, 2026.

From Republicans there are 247,436 ballots returned.” He says he wants Oregon to rank first in the country for voter turnout. “I hope that trajectory keeps up.”

He says it’s too late to pop ballots in the mail and guarantee they’ll be on time for the November 3rd election.  He recommends using a dropbox instead, or going to a post office for a hand postmark.
