NYPD Ignored Nearly 10,000 ICE Detainers in Past Year: House Judiciary GOP Sanctuary Report on NYC

House Judiciary Republicans, led by Chair Jim Jordan of Ohio, released an interim staff report on Monday that highlighted the "dangers" of New York City's sanctuary policies and the significant threat it poses to public safety.
The report claimed that the New York City Police Department received nearly 10,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers in the past year and honored zero. It also received 20,255 detainers from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2026, and also reportedly honored none of them.
